Test Optional Admission to Arcadia University

Arcadia University joined more than 1,100 universities and colleges nationwide with a standardized-test optional admissions policy beginning with current high school students applying for the Fall 2021 semester. Read the full press release.

Students will indicate during the application process if they are choosing to apply test optional.  Students choosing to apply test optional can submit any of the following in lieu of test scores:

1. Essay

Answer the two questions below and submit your answers as a PDF with your application.

  • First question - Why do you want to attend Arcadia? (250 words or less)
  • Second question - Choose one of the following (500 words or less):
    • What is your greatest accomplishment or biggest success while in high school?
    • Why do you think you will be successful at Arcadia University in your major?
    • Reflect on a social justice issue that is important to you. 

2. Video

Submit a video that is 60 seconds or less, and insert the link when applying. Show us something that we wouldn’t have learned about you from your application. Be as creative or as formal as you choose.

3. Portfolio

The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request. Either the server is overloaded or there is an error in the application.

4. Interview

This option will become available after Oct. 15.

Exceptions

  • Homeschool applicants (scores can be self-reported)
  • International applicants (must submit SAT or ACT if not submitting a TOELF, IELTS or iTep)
  • Students that wish to be considered for an invitation to the 3+DPT must submit SAT or ACT scores
  • Students applying for a 3 year degree, 3+2 Forensic Science, 3+2 International Peace and Conflict Resolution, 3+2 International Relations and Diplomacy or 3+3 Law are required to submit SAT or ACT scores
  • SAT or ACT scores are required to be considered for the full-tuition Presidential Scholarship
